Anyone who knows what kind of place Sanctuarium is?
I have been there last Sunday night: June 7, 2009. My kuya (my cousin) has even become hesitant to park in the front of that place and asked: “May bayad ba dito?” (eng: do they have parking fees?)
Sanctuarium is a funeral parlor, a very gorgeous one.
I already convinced myself that I should put sad face since it is a wake but when I saw what Sanctuarium really is I can’t help but to smile because of great admiration.
There are huge chandeliers, and a glamorous looking elevator. Even the floor with its unique tile designs looks marvelous.
The magnificent atmosphere and luxurious structure doesn’t look like a funeral parlor at all.
There are Corinthian columns that gave added flair to the structure.
Anyway before I can even forget, we went there because my papa’s cousin died.
He made a long trip. His body was even taken from Africa, where they stay. He died because of cardiac arrest.
I haven’t met the man before that day and I was clueless of who will I see in his wake.
We used the escalator much more for pleasure!
Only the shops are missing and I can call it a mall…or maybe a mansion as well?
I haven’t been to any magnificent place like Sanctuarium before so my admiration for that kind of place is really high.
I met a lot of people, some that I know some are not.
We are all wearing the same color: white.
I believed Chinese doesn’t consider wearing any black clothes for a wake…
They also believe in a lot of things like we should not bring home any food from the wake or someone might die after.
(I really don’t think it is true, I think they just don’t like the people to bring home the foods?)
The greatest thing about that place is their wi-fi connection, I was able to use their service thanks to my kuya’s N79 cellphone.
Not everyone can afford to die and have a luxurious wake like he had.
Not even me.
Most people that live a normal life will not need such kind of wake that needs a lot of money…
That is the proof that a lot of people around the world are really experiencing a hard life nowadays.
I am really sorry that all I can say is about how beautiful the place is.
It is something I just can’t forget.
Anyway I feel really sad for the family he has left.
This is my last week’s story.
